The 13-pole plug-in system according to ISO 11446 was developed at the end of the 1980s. In contrast to the 7-pole system the high number of poles enables the transmission of all light and auxiliary functions with only one plug. Due to its advantages also in terms of waterproofness stability contact security and ease of use through bayonet locking the system is increasingly replacing the older connector generations.
