Insulated crimp connectors are crimped at the coloured end with an appropriate tool to make a secure firm contact with the cable. The insulation material is either PVC (max. temperature rating of 80°C) or nylon (max. 105°C). The insulating sleeve has a special "easy-entry" funnel shape to ensure better insertion of the cable. The different identification colours of the cable connectors serve to distinguish for which cable cross-sections they can be used.
