Application: Horns are a mandatory part of every motor vehicle's safety equipment. A particularly well perceptible signal is necessary to be able to effectively warn other road users in dangerous situations. Our signal horns offer you a high level of functional safety. Structure and function: The horns are powered by the battery current which is normally controlled by a control current from the steering wheel. This is routed to a relay that sends the entire control current so that no voltage dips occur. The control current activates the electromagnet in the horn and generates a magnetic field that attracts a metal core (armature) to which the steel diaphragm of the horn is attached. When energised the power supply is interrupted the magnetic field collapses the armature and diaphragm return to the rest position and the power supply is restored. The process starts all over again. This creates a vibration that can be heard as a low or high tone.
