Every second new passenger car and light commercial vehicle is equipped with a dual mass flywheel (DMF), and this number is increasing. A DMF is standard equipment, especially in passenger cars with diesel or high-powered petrol engines.Like the clutch, the DMF is subject to normal wear and should be replaced if necessary. If a DMF does need replacing, vehicle manufacturers always recommend replacing the original unit with a new DMF. The LuK dual mass flywheel dampens torsional vibrations in the drivetrain to ensure comfort and drivability at all speeds.
